AFRICANS: PRAYERS OR REVOLUTION?

At times I lack words on how to describe the ugly and mediocre lives lots of Africans have been subjected to by our so called “leaders” since we got our so called “independence”. For decades, lots of Africans have known nothing but suffering since birth which is mainly characterized by low employment opportunities, unstable electricity, no access to good health care which have given birth to numerous problems like abject poverty, high crime rates and insecurity, inability to afford basic necessities like food, shelter, education…….. it’s a lot. It’s a shame. The most painful thing is, while the masses are struggling to survive and make money to eat at least one meal a day, some urchins are getting fat on millions, billions and trillions. How wicked? How soulless can one get?

Africa is blessed tremendously with natural resources more than any other continent worldwide. I won’t ask God why but I believe he definitely had reasons best known to him. All I’ve observed is that is it both a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing or maybe supposed to be a blessing if we were benefiting from it but right now we are suffering the extreme end of it which is the curse. To a large extent it’s our fault. We are not ready to even fight our battles but we’re easily aiding invaders who are carting away our resources while we languish in abject poverty and despair. The extreme hunger and suffering then pushes people to berate the government after they feel they are being pushed to the wall but they are replied with violence, mass murder and more hunger. The people give up and rely on prayer due to fear of being killed or incarcerated. While all of these have happened, the suffering only worsens gradually while people keep weeping in despair and keep praying while being brutally massacred by terrorists daily. Dear Africa, prayers or revolt, or even both?

We have to choose our fate or we perish soon. We need to examine the situation and analyse it so as to help us offer better solutions to a problem that has held us handicapped for decades. Is praying alone actually the solution? I’ve thought about this severally while lives are being lost to terrorists, armed robbers, diseases that could be easily treated, bad roads and many other unnecessary things. I even remember reading in the Old Testament how the Israelites of old fought against invaders. They didn’t say because they were Children of God so they should therefore relax and do nothing. I know things changed in the New Testament when God sent his son to die on the cross so instead of sinners being put to death, forgiveness was preached more often. As much as forgiveness is good and powerful, if not understood properly, it can be used to manipulate people with very gullible and feeble minds. It can be used as a manipulative tactic by people with very sinister intentions. I believe this is where many Christians got it wrong and why Christians are one of the weakest demographic you’re likely to come across.

Many Christians think Christianity is docility and God is going to come down from heaven and fight their battles without a single effort from them which is why Christians keep being slaughtered like animals. Before anyone uses the Bible to defend docility, remember Jesus whipped people in the temple for doing business in his father’s house. Why didn’t he talk to them peacefully? What if he warned them severally but they didn’t listen so Jesus had to employ another method which was to be strict. It’s just like bringing up children. You’re sweet sometimes and you’re harsh sometimes. That’s how life is and in fact that is how God created the universe. The world is tough and doesn’t pity the weak. You’re weak? You perish!!! It’s the law of the universe, I didn’t write that. Either you flow with nature or it bites you. That is why the world is made up of people in numerous but two different categories, the strong and the weak. Every single being on the planet belongs to either of them. You have to choose one because like it or not, you’ll be bullied and invaded, it’s left for you to stand your ground and be on guard.

With regards to the issues we are facing as Africans and black people, it’s the same thing. We have relaxed for too long and worst of all, the media has being their major weapon of destruction towards us as a people. We need to start thinking for ourselves and come up with solutions to get out of this mess we’ve found ourselves in for decades. Like it or not colonial masters (bullies) will always try and see how much they can mess with you before they go further but with strong leaders and strong people, they stand no chance. Our ancestors were not aware of their games but in this day and age, we have no excuse. China is gradually becoming a colonizer but we are not even concerned about anything that will improve our situation as a collective. When we revolutionize our minds, the problem is half solved as strategies will be developed overtime. Hardwork and Action is what will save Africans, not prayers alone. We have prayed enough. For me I’ll say, less prayers and more actions. If Africans want to be in total control of its wealth and resources, it’s people must be strong, for the world is a tough place and has no single atom of mercy for the weak. It’s all about the survival of the fittest. Normally every African child should be taught from a very young age that by default, his/her land will always be a target because of how extremely rich the continent is. This would help every African bear in mind that there’ll be bullies waiting to devour them and steal their resources if they ever let their guard down. As for our “leaders”, forget them!!! They are European servants who serve the interests of their former colonial masters and not their people. Know this and know peace!!!

Justice to our African brothers and sisters who have been brutally murdered by terrorists and colonial powers due to our selfish leaders who sacrificed their people for power. You will all get justice someday. I love you all ❤️
